Deputy Foreign Minister, head of IDX among OJK commissioner candidates

Jakarta. About 155 people, including government officials, are set to serve on the board of commissioners of the Financial Services Authority, or OJK, for the 2022-2027 term.

The selection committee announced on Monday that 155 candidates had passed the first phase or the administrative test. Among others, Deputy Foreign Minister Mahendra Siregar and Chairman and CEO of the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) Inarno Djajadi.

Orias Petrus Moedak, the former CEO of state-owned mining company Mind ID, and Mirza Adityaswara, CEO of Indonesia’s Banking Development Institute (LPPI), have also taken the first step.

Other names include Hoesen, the executive chairman of capital market supervisor at OJK. As well as the deputy responsible for the prevention and monitoring of the Commission for the Eradication of Corruption (KPK), Pahala Nainggolan.

Applicants will move on to the second phase, which includes a public assessment, review, and paper.

“In the second phase, we will ask the public to participate by giving their opinion, information on the integrity, background and/or attitude of the candidates,” Finance Minister Sri Mulyani, who also leads the selection committee.

Sri Mulyani added that the committee would guarantee the anonymity of the informant and his comments.

The committee will announce the results after February 16, after the end of the public evaluation. Considering the current situation of Covid-19 pandemic, Sri Mulyani advised all candidates to take care of their health.

“This way, they will be able to participate in the entire selection process on time. Including the in-person medical assessment and check-up at the hospitals that the committee has named, which will take place right after the announcement of the second phase. “, she said.
