Exchange Program Needs Host Families in Southwest Montana | ABC Fox Bozeman

BOZEMAN, Mont. – An exchange program abroad is looking for families to host international high school students for the 2022-2023 school year.

International students are between the ages of 15 and 18, speak English, and travel from Europe, Asia, and South America to learn more about American culture.

Students can attend any public high school in Bozeman, Belgrade, Manhattan, Three Forks, Ennis, or Livingston.

Host families are required to provide room, board, meals, transportation and a loving environment.

ICES Southwest Montana Local Coordinator Sierra Drake said, “One of the coolest things about the program is that the students are hand-selected by the host family. I I call myself the matchmaker because I talk to host families and find out their interest and family, then search our student database and help them find the perfect student for their family.”

Foster families can be anyone from a single parent or an adult, a family with children, or even a couple who are an empty nest and have just sent their children to the university.

Each student has health insurance and pocket money for clothes, cell phone, activities and travel.

In addition, host families can benefit from a tax deduction.

The family application process includes a complete online application, verification references, background checks and a home visit for an in-person interview.
