Nigeria’s ambassador to Japan praises Team Nigeria
The Nigerian Ambassador to Nigeria in Japan, Ambassador Abubakar Moriki Husaini, has praised Team Nigeria for the high quality representation of the country at the current Olympic Games in Tokyo 2020.
He gave the commendation when he received the team at the Nigerian Embassy in Tokyo, Japan yesterday.
Ambassador Husaini, who, accompanied by his staff, welcomed all remaining athletes and officials of the camp in Nigeria to Japan; thanked them for the good work and high quality representation they have given the Federal Republic of Nigeria, especially the medal winners who made the country proud during the 2020 Olympics.
Minister of Youth and Sport, Sunday Dare, welcomed the support of the Nigerian Embassy in Japan at the event.
He also appreciated the athletes for their achievements in Tokyo.
“I have to sincerely thank all the athletes and officials who have worked so hard to make Team Nigeria a success. Competing in the Olympic Games and winning medals is a great honor in the country of over 200 million people.
“The Federal Government of Nigeria is proud of you all, but let me quickly add that the Ministry of Youth and Sports Development will take care of the treatment of Enoch Adegoke, Blessing Oborodudu, Oluwatobiloba Amusan, Chukwuebuka Enekwarti and Usheoritse Itsekiri, as well as each of the athletes that is, caring for any injury, ”assured Dare.
Similarly, engineer Habu Ahmed Gumel, President of the Nigeria Olympic Committee (NOC), who presented the medal winners with the International Olympic Committee pins and certificates, urged them to do very well prepared for the upcoming games and events so that they perform better be able. He also praised the minister for his commitment to the athletes and the working relationship that exists between the ministry and the NOC.
