New Delhi [India]Mar 25 (ANI): Oman’s Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr bin Hamad bin Hamood Albusaidi on Thursday called Vice President Venkaiah Naidu at Upa-Rashtrapati Nivas in Delhi, where the two sides exchanged views on a number global issues of common interest.
According to a statement from Oman’s Foreign Ministry, the two sides reviewed the existing friendship and cooperation relations between the two countries during the meeting.
They also stressed the common interest in strengthening and developing relations in various fields, bringing common benefits to the two countries and their peoples, especially in the economic and technological fields as well as in the sectors of trade, energy renewables, tourism, health, higher education, education and food security.
Notably, Oman’s Foreign Minister also met with External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar on Wednesday where the two leaders reiterated their commitment to the close strategic partnership between the two nations.
“Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to the close strategic partnership between India and Oman. The two ministers stressed the high priority given by the leaders of the two countries to bilateral relations based on high mutual trust and respect. The two ministers underlined that as neighbors united in the waters of the Arabian Sea, the two countries have an important role to play in the maritime safety and security of the region,” the MEA statement read.
This comes at a time when the neighboring country, Pakistan, during the OIC meeting, raised the issue of Kashmir. On the other hand, the UN delegation was in Srinagar for deep investments in the region.
This is Sayyid Badr bin Hamad bin Hamood Albusaidi’s first visit to India since his appointment as Oman’s Foreign Minister in August 2020, according to the joint statement issued by India and the Foreign Minister. from Oman. (ANI)
